Snail Mail Collective and an update

Life has been sort of crazy for me lately. If you read this post, you'll have a good idea as to why. I'm still recovering and it seems like more time has passed than actually has. That's mostly because every time I try to catch up with my bloglovin' feed more blogs pile on top of it!

But before all that happened last month, I signed up for the Snail Mail Collective with Nectar Collective and Lost in Travels in August. You may be wondering why it has taken me this long to write about it all, well with all the crazyness of breaking up with my boyfriend of 5 years I changed my address, and the package got stuck in the mail for almost three weeks! I only sent mine off last week, and I'm glad it got there. I'm also glad the link-up is giving us both enough time to write our posts, so that's awesome.

Now on to the good stuff!

My partner for the SMC was Tiffany from D'Asti at Tiffany's. The more I read her blog, I realized how alike we really were, which was awesome! I love making new bloggy friends, and I think they did a good job of pairing us up. She will always have a blog fan in me, that's for sure!

Here's what I got from her package that finally made its way here yesterday

April Sprinkles Snail Mail Collective

I should note that she did a much better job at fulfilling the theme of "Under the Sea" than I did. I just drew sea creatures on her package, lol.

She, on the other hand, got me some nautical note cards, a journal, and a seashell cookie cutter that all fit the theme perfectly! (Also, props to her because I am a HUGE fan of nautical!) The other two gifts are a photo frame key chain and a dog cross stitch. The cross-stitch was because we had both been talking about how we wanted dogs, but not right now. I love it! I've always wanted to try cross-stitch too. And of course, along with everything was a very lovely note :)

I highly recommend anyone thinking about joining in the collective to do so. It's a lot of fun meeting new bloggers you might never have come across before. Just because my situation was kind of a disaster, doesn't mean that it will happen to everyone! And eventually when I'm back to my old self I'd love to do another one.

So here's the update on my life I'm sure you're all so very interested in hearing about, lol.

I started walking/running the path near our house recently and have already gotten so much better at it. It was one of the things I was most pumped for doing once I got here. I was also inspired by #runningforsupernannykenz that Kenzie at Chasing Happy started that I wanted in on it. It's a great way to clear my head which is what I need most of all these days.

Another great update is that I'll be participating in a craft fair with one of my best friends next month! Courtney is just getting started blogging, but she's been selling her crocheted goods on Facebook for a few years now. I highly recommend you check her out at ShoesOnYourHead Crochet! I'm really excited for this and have been working my butt off trying to make some scarves for us to sell along with her many hats.

Other than going to the Goodwill Outlet (a LOT), watching a TON of Supernatural, knitting, and seeing some of the sights around this area, there's not much more to report.

I hope the rest of you are doing well :)

  2. I'm so happy that you FINALLY got your package. That is so ridiculous that it took so long! But at least it got to you eventually. I'm glad that you like everything! I tried cross stitch once, and I was horrible. I read the instructions wrong. I may try it again though. You're crafty though, so I'm sure it'll be a breeze for you.

I'm glad things are steadily getting better for you and that you've found an outlet. Running seems awesome. I really wish I could get into it again. And that's so exciting about the craft fair! That seems like something you'd be perfect for! I hope you have a blast, and I can't wait to hear all about it.
